| Sandhu Greenhouses is a family
business, located north of Osoyoos on Highway # 97. Since 1991, Jesse
Sandhu, his brother and their parents have worked hard to expand the
nursery so that now it is the largest in Osoyoos. Although it is open from
March to October, the Sandhus spend the winter months getting bedding
plants and hanging baskets ready for Spring sales. Outside are many hardy
trees and shrubs, and inside the greenhouses are the bedding plants and
perennials, and hot house vegetables. These greenhouses supply many retail
stores with cucumbers and tomatoes early in the season. Other family
members operate the fruit and vegetable business on the property. The
store is full of exotic plants, fresh seasonal produce, and pickles and
preserves. There is also a full range of gardening supplies, from top soil
to garden gnomes, water fountains and large decorative urns.
