| Sandhu Greenhouses is a family
business that keeps growing, until now it's one of the largest of its kind
in the Okanagan. First came the nursery business in 1991. Then in 1994
Jesse Sandhu, his brother and parents built a 3,000 square foot greenhouse
to grow seedlings for their vegetable field crops. In 1995, they added
another 3,000 square foot greenhouse for bedding plants. Today, this
family operation covers over 2 acres for nursery stock plus 155,000 square
feet of vegetable-product greenhouses. Their Seasonal Road-side Stand includes: Spring: greenhouse tomatoes, and cucumbers, fresh asparagus, shrubs, bedding plants, hanging baskets, fertilizers, planters and pots. Summer and Fall: The fresh fruit and vegetable menu that the Okanagan is famous for cherries, apricots, peaches, pears, plums and apples all fresh picked and in season. Fresh garden vegetables including, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, corn, potatoes. and a full range of colorful peppers. Stop at Sandhu’s and enjoy the colors of the season. Their flowers, shrubs and desert plant material are eye-catching and of the finest quality. In spring enjoy the shrubs and flowers in bloom. In summer, see their collection of desert plants, including rare and beautiful cactus in bloom. Now, Sandhu’s introduces a year-round packing house line of fresh fruit and vegetables, with cold storage facilities for apples. Now, the option of fresh fruit and vegetables is available 12 months of the year.
