Barbara’s past experience with voice is in Carla Bagley’s studio, an awesome instructor from Mt. Royal University, who has provided Barbara a wealth of experience singing and playing piano. Some of her experiences include, but are not limited to, performing in the Kiwanis Music Festival final concert in “At the End of the Day” from Les Miserables, acquiring numerous certificates and awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival in numerous categories, performing in professional performances, weddings and funerals, as well as Operamore and Sopranos with an Attitude and a professional concert with Carla Bagley. Barbara has extensive experience in musical theatre, group numbers, duets and trios, women’s choir, pop music, opera scenes, art song (German, English, French and Italian), oratorio, church music and folk. She has a three-octave range of low E to a high E above high C and believes in teaching the beauty of the singing voice to her students. Barbara is a vocal teacher at the Penticton Academy of Music, and engages all students to sing in various forms of recitals and shows, including, but not limited to cabarets, afternoon teas, Christmas concerts, Year End Galas, musicals and dinner theatre. Students wishing to perform in talent shows, festival and idol competitions are most welcome. |
