A truly amazing presentation: a model railroad like no other!
Up to 20 computer controlled trains travel through more than 4000 square feet of city and countryside... every inch of it hand made, and created by Poul and Ulla Pedersen. The Osoyoos Desert Model Railroad will surprise, enthrall, and entertain you. You'll be impressed with the devotion to detail and the charm of the presentation. The trains travel through terrain that is distinctly European. The miniature homes, and castles, the ski hill and waterways, the shops and industries are all designed to scale, hand built and hand-painted by the Pedersen's. Ulla has personally hand-painted 15000 miniature people and animals, each one adding its own touch of authenticity to the scene and about 11000 of them are on the display. This all began as a hobby. Poul admits it has grown to spectacular proportions over the past 40 years. Today, the Osoyoos Desert Model Railroad is in a new permanent climate-controlled location, wheel chair accessible, with easy parking.

Special Message from the Pedersens:
New this year!

  • The railroad display has been expanded by 500 square feet, to a total of 4000 square feet and we have some pretty fantastic and exciting things happening.
  • We have a car system running on the roads, the FIRST in North America.
  • It is amazing to watch the bus go into the gas station to get filled up and then find its way out again. It's just like magic, and has received RAVE REVIEWS.
  • Also in the new section we have a trellis bridge, indoor soccer, town market, open pit mine operation, waterway channel, nude beach and so much more.

This is a world-class attraction for all ages.
Open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm
